Use a quality checklist in other applications
Manage quality checklist attachments
A quality checklist utilizes two distinct types of attachments: template attachments, which function as reference documents, and response attachments, which contain the actual user submissions. Understanding this crucial difference allows you to efficiently focus review and assessment efforts specifically on the documents containing user-generated content that requires attention.
Template attachments
Template attachments provide supporting information from Quality Master Data to help you understand and complete the checklist. These attachments include instructions, additional details and specifications, guidance for specific questions, and reference materials. You can view template attachments but do not need to assess or approve them. Template attachments come from the Quality Master Data.
Response attachments
Response attachments contain actual submissions from users who are responsible for completing the checklist. These attachments include completed forms and questionnaires, evidence and supporting files, task responses, and assessment materials. You must review and assess response attachments to verify compliance or completion.
The separation helps you:
Quickly identify which attachments require review and assessment.
Focus on actual submissions without reviewing reference materials.
Collaborate more efficiently with suppliers, internal third-party personnel, or users who do not work directly in Teamcenter.
Organize attachments for audits, quality assessments, and compliance activities.
Example
A project manager conducts a design review for a new automotive component. The checklist includes template attachments such as design review guidelines, safety standards, and example test reports. Engineering team members submit response attachments including CAD drawings, simulation results, and material specifications. The project manager assesses only the response attachments to approve the design for production.
