Document the impact analysis for evaluating the root cause

In a Problem Solving process, to document the impact analysis for the root cause evaluation by specifying critical information to thoroughly assess and address non-conformance issues.

This includes:

  • Conducting an impact analysis to evaluate the effect on other systems, processes, or product batches and documenting the results.

  • Estimating the impact on production and the effort required to correct the issue.

  • Assigning a Severity Score.

  • Recording the Root Cause Identified Date.

These details ensure a comprehensive understanding of the problem, facilitate effective corrective actions, and support continuous improvement efforts.

Procedure

  1. From Launcher, click Changes .
    If this option is unavailable, search for it. You can pin it from the search results for future access.

  2. From the CHANGES folder, select and open the Problem Solving process that you want to edit.

  3. Click the Root Cause Analysis work mode. By default, the problem description defect is selected in the Root Cause Analysis tree structure.

  4. From the work area toolbar, click Clear Selections to clear the selection of the problem description defect. In the right pane, the Overview tab displays the Properties section.

  5. From the work area toolbar, click Edit .

  6. In the Properties section, enter the required details to document the impact analysis.

  7. Click Save .
