Specify interfaces between the system elements in the boundary diagram

After you add system element representations in the boundary diagram, you can specify the interface types between them.

Procedure

1. Open the FMEA object.

2. Select the system element of the FMEA in the tree structure and click Boundary Diagram tab.

3. In the Boundary Diagram tab, click Interface, and select the required connection type from one of the following:

One Way Direct

Two Way Direct

One Way Indirect

Two Way Indirect

4. Select the system element representation from which you want to create the interface connection.

5. Drag to select the second system element representation that you want to connect to.

6. Click Exit Interface after you have created the required connections.

7. To specify the interface type, click Edit to edit the boundary diagram.

8. Select the connection between the system elements and click Edit Interface .

9. In the Edit Interface panel, select the required Interface Type option from the list.

You can also modify the Interface Type Value, Interface Details, Connection Type, or Interaction Type.

10. Click Save to save your changes.

11. Click Save Edits to save the changes to the boundary diagram.
