Change the default FMEA behaviour
Control cascading of severity values in an FMEA
By default, when quality engineers edit the severity value of the highest failure in the FMEA structure, the updated severity value transfers to all sublevels in the failure nets.
This is because the
FMEA_cascaded_severity
preference is set to
true
.
Severity is the basis for RPN or AP calculation. You can change this behavior by modifying this preference.
Procedure
From Launcher , click Preferences.
If this option is unavailable, search for it. You can pin it from the search results for future access. In the Search box, type FMEA_cascaded_severity.
Click Edit .
In the Values section, type false.
Click Save . Quality engineers cannot modify the severity values of the individual failures on the sublevels and the severity value from the higher levels will not overwrite them.
