Configure which property is used to derive Problem Solving processes for

    multiple valid symptom defects of an issue

When quality engineers derive Problem Solving processes for multiple valid symptom defects of an issue, they can use either the PSP__DerivePSItemAsDuplicateWF or PSP__DerivePSItemAsCarryoverWF workflow. By default, the symptom defect's Evaluation field must be set to Investigating before the quality engineers submit the issue to the required workflow. To use a different value of the symptom defect's Evaluation field, configure this in the PSP-derive-problem-solving-items action handler of the DeriveProblemSolvingItemAsCarryover task.

Procedure

1. In the Workflow Designer, open either the PSP__DerivePSItemAsDuplicateWF or PSP__DerivePSItemAsCarryoverWF workflow, and click Start Edit .

2. Select one of the following:

                Keep the template online during the editing
                    process.
                Keep the template offline during the editing
                    process.
   

3. Click the DeriveProblemSolvingItemAsCarryover task to modify it.

4. Click the Handlers tab.

5. Expand the Completed trigger group, and select the PSP-derive-problem-solving-items action handler.

6. Update source_property_name and source_property_value to the new values, and click Save .
