Respond to a quality action

Add a dependent quality action

A dependent quality action is a linked quality action record that is associated with a parent quality action. You create dependent quality actions when you need to track smaller parts of a bigger quality problem. The main quality action stays open until you complete all its dependent quality actions.

Example

A quality engineer at an automotive plant finds a problem with a door latch. They create a main quality action for the door latch problem and then add two dependent quality actions. One dependent action is for the supplier to fix faulty parts, and another is for the assembly team to correct how they install the parts. The main door latch problem can only be closed after both the supplier fixes the parts and the assembly team corrects their installation process. This helps track each part of the fix and makes sure everything is done in the right order.
