Default configuration for creating FMEA variants

Teamcenter provides a standard configuration for FMEA variants that determines how information is copied from master FMEAs to their variants. Understanding this default configuration helps you decide whether customization is needed for your organization.

When creating an FMEA variant using the out-of-the-box configuration:

1. All attributes and information from the master FMEA transfer to the variant, except:
   Due date (remains empty in variant)
   
   Team members (not copied from master)

2. The variant has new, independent copies for:

                        Datasets
                    
                    
                        Images
                    
                    
                        Web links
                    
                    
                        Quality actions
   

The default configuration resides in the

FMEACreateVariantRules.xml

file located at

src\solutions\aqc0qcmaw\businessdata\aqc0qcmaw\install\data

. This file defines the standard behavior for variant creation and inheritance rules.
