Managing qualification records
Understanding re-qualification of qualification records
A re-qualification occurs when a trainee needs to renew their qualifications by completing all trainings again. You can re-qualify a trainee by creating a new qualification record when their existing qualifications are completed, expired, or need renewal to ensure compliance with updated standards.
Example
At an automotive assembly plant, a robotic welding operator is responsible for operating and monitoring automated welding systems on the main production line. Due to the critical nature of welding in vehicle safety and quality standards, welding operators must undergo re-qualification every year to maintain their certification. When the robotic welding operator's qualification expires after a year, a new qualification record is created, and the operator must complete all requirements to renew their certification. This ensures consistent weld quality, safety compliance, and maintains documented evidence of operator competency.
When a qualification record is added for re-qualification:
A new qualification record is created with the status Qualification New.
Quality actions from the original qualification units or qualification definitions are copied to create a unique record.
If Effectiveness Review Required is enabled, the associated checklists are copied to create a unique record.
You can track re-qualification records in any of the following locations:
In the Training Records tab, shows a list of all qualification records.
In the Linked Qualification Records tab, the new requalification record is added.
