Perform the structure analysis

Create the structural representation of the FMEA

To perform the structural analysis of the FMEA, identify the components within the assembly of a design FMEA or the logical hierarchical steps of a process FMEA. Add them as system element representations to the FMEA.

Procedure

  1. Open the FMEA.

  2. Select the system element and add a child by one of the following methods.

Choose More Commands

New

Child. From the Structure Analysis tab, click Add and select Child. In the net view, right-click the tile and select Child.

  1. In the Create panel, do one of the following:

Click Search to search for an existing system element.

Click New and specify the required details to create a new system element.

Note If you select the Create and link its master data check box, the system element representation is created as a specification at the highest level in the Quality Master Data library.

  1. Click Add.

Note If Teamcenter Copilot Quality is available, you can prompt it to create suggestions for your quality data.

What to do next

After creating the FMEA structure, you can perform the function analysis to specify the functions of the different components in the FMEA structure and their requirements and characteristics.
