Perform a root cause analysis

Expand or collapse the Root Cause Analysis tree structure

You can expand or collapse a chosen defect within the Root Cause Analysis tree structure. The selected defect can be expanded in the tree structure up to a designated level.

In the

Root Cause Analysis

work mode, expanding the left pane allows you to select a defect and view its associated details, including the related failure, defective item, and attachments.

Procedure

From Launcher, click Changes .
If this option is unavailable, search for it. You can pin it from the search results for future access.
From the CHANGES folder, select and open the Problem Solving process that you want to edit.
Click the Root Cause Analysis work mode.
In the left pane of the Root Cause Analysis work mode, select the required defect.

Do the following:

                 To expand a defect in the tree structure, select the
                     defect, and click Expand >
                         Expand Below.
                 
             
             
                 To collapse a defect in the tree structure, select the
                     defect, and click Expand >
                         Collapse Below.
             
             
                 To expand a defect in the tree structure up to a
                     specified structure level, do the following:
                 
                     
                         Select a defect in the tree
                                 structure, and click Expand.
                         In the Expand to Structure Level
                                 box, specify the structure level and press Enter.The defect is expanded up to the specified
                                 level.

After you expand or collapse the tree structure to the required level, click Save Working State to save the current state of the tree structure.
After you save a current working state and expand or collapse the nodes in the tree structure to perform other operations, you can revert to the saved state by clicking Restore Saved State .
