Configure Quality Action Management
Skip workflow for specific quality action subtypes
You can control which quality action subtypes require workflow approval. The Qam0SkipWorkflowForActionSubType preference allows you to streamline routine actions while maintaining approval for actions that need it.
Not all quality actions require the same level of review. Sending every quality action through a formal workflow can slow down your ability to respond to quality issues. Different action subtypes have different risk levels in your organization.
Example
You might skip workflows for general FMEA action groups that document existing controls, while requiring approval for prevention actions that introduce new processes. Or you might bypass workflow for training checklists while maintaining approval for audit containment actions.
By selectively skipping workflows for specific action subtypes, you can speed up routine quality processes by removing approval steps for low-risk action subtypes while keeping approval for critical action subtypes like those in recommended or revision states. You can customize approval processes to match your organization's quality management practices and risk tolerance.
Preference value format
Use the format Type:SubType when specifying values for the
Qam0SkipWorkflowForActionSubType preference. Use only
internal names for both the type and subtype.
You can specify multiple subtypes for a single type by separating them with commas. You can also specify multiple type-subtype pairs by listing them separately in the preference.
Note
The default value is General:General. If you do not set a value,
the system always submits actions to the workflow.
