Create an FMEA
Create an FMEA from an existing BOM or BOP
You can create an FMEA from an existing bill of materials (BOM) or bill of processes (BOP).
Alternatively, you can independently Create an FMEA or Import an FMEA.
Procedure
Search for a product structure, that is, a BOM, or a BOP and open it.
To create an FMEA based on the structure opened, choose More Commands > Manage > Generate FMEA Structure.
In the Generate FMEA panel:
Specify a name. Select the FMEA guideline. Select the Reference Type.
If you select
You have
Reference items with hard-link A closed-loop concept with highest efficiency in the risk analysis.
Reference items with soft-link High flexibility in the source structure with moderate efficiency in the risk analysis
Do not reference items Highest flexibility in the source structure by disconnecting risk analysis.
Click Generate.
Note If you are generating large FMEA structures, you can select the Run in Background check box to continue running the FMEA generation process in the background. You receive an alert when the FMEA generation process is complete. From the Home folder, open the FMEA.
The FMEA structure opens in the tree view. The system element name of the generated FMEA is the same as that of the item structure. The sequence number on the FMEA side is created based on the find number on the item structure.
