Default configuration for comparing FMEA master and variant

Teamcenter includes a standard configuration for comparing master FMEAs with their variants. This comparison helps you track differences that occur over time and manage variant alignment with master FMEAs.

When comparing an FMEA variant with its master using the out-of-the-box configuration:

1. Elements are matched based on these properties:

                        Name (object_name)
                    
                    
                        Description (object_desc)
   

2. For matched elements, the following is compared:

                        Failure characteristics (qfm0FailureCharacteristic)
   

The comparison configuration resides in the

CompareFMEAStructureMVRules.xml

file located at

src\solutions\aqc0qcmaw\businessdata\aqc0qcmaw\install\data

. This file defines which properties Teamcenter uses to identify matching elements and what information to compare between them.
