Create an FMEA

Create an FMEA

You can create the FMEA structure by creating an FMEA first and then creating a hierarchy of system element representations, function representations, and failure representations. When you create the FMEA, you must specify the top-level system element specification for the analysis.

Alternatively, you can Create an FMEA from an existing BOM or BOP or Import an FMEA.

The following video shows how to create an FMEA structure.

Procedure

  1. From Launcher , click Explorer.
If this option is unavailable, search for it. You can pin it from the search results for future access.

  2. In the Content section, click Add .

  3. In the Add panel, type FMEA and select FMEA.

  4. In the Properties, specify the following:

Specify a name for the FMEA. (Optional) Type a description. Specify the FMEA guideline for the analysis.

Note If the Teamcenter Quality AI Client is available, you can prompt it to Use the Teamcenter Copilot Quality for quality data suggestions.

  5. In Root System Element Properties, specify the following:

Specify a name for the system element representation. (Optional) Type a description.

  6. In Projects, click Add Projects .

Search for and select the required projects or subprojects, and click Assign.

To remove a project or subproject, select it, and click Remove Project .
Note When an FMEA root node object is added to a project, all its child objects are included in that same project.

  7. Click Add.

                 The FMEA is created
with the system element representation at the root node.
