Managing qualification units
Update a qualification unit
You can update a qualification unit its details. By default, effectiveness review is mandatory. You can specify if you want the assigned employee to perform an effectiveness review, in a specified time, for the qualification unit after they complete it.
Procedure
- From Launcher , click Explorer.
If this option is unavailable, search for it. You can pin it from the search results for future access.
Open the required qualification unit.
Choose More Commands
Edit Summary .
- Specify the required properties.

Qualification Type
Specifies the various training options available.
Qualification Period (days)
Indicates the number of days available to the assignee to complete the qualification unit.
Effectiveness Review Required
Refers to the option to review the effectiveness of the qualification unit and to verify its impact on employee expertise and performance. By default, this option is selected.
Effectiveness Review Period (days)
Specifies the block of time to perform the effectiveness review for the qualification unit after they complete the qualification unit. Note You receive a notification email when the effectiveness review is due. For example, if you have specified 10 as the Review Period, the notification email is sent ten days before the effectiveness review is due.
Renewal Period
Refers to the number of days that must pass before a person or an equipment needs to be recertified for a qualification unit. The countdown for the renewal period begins when the person or an equipment achieves satisfactory completion for the qualification unit. When the renewal period is completed, the satisfactory completion validation also expires.
Renewal Period Type
Specifies the block of time to specify the renewal period.
Expected Cost
Indicates the cost of implementing the qualification unit.
Currency
Refers to the currency used to define the expected cost of the qualification unit.
Expected Duration
Indicates the expected number of days estimated to complete the qualification unit.
Duration Unit
Specifies the block of time used to specify the expected duration.
QR Workflow Template Name
Indicates the name of the workflow template that is automatically submitted for the qualification record.
Industry Standard
Refers to the ISO standard on which the qualification is assessed. This is editable only when the qualification unit is in draft status.
Requalification Days Before Expiration Specifies the number of days before a qualification unit expires when re-qualification can be initiated. If a renewal period is defined, a re-qualification record is automatically created. Otherwise, the training coordinator manually creates the record and assigns it to a user.
Confirmation of Effectiveness Adds an action for the user to review the effectiveness of qualification unit.
Effectiveness Review Checklist Adds a checklist to review the effectiveness of qualification unit.
- Choose More Commands
Edit Save Edits .
- To add a quality action in the qualification unit, do the following:
In the Confirmation of Effectiveness section, click Add Quality Action .
In the Add Quality Action as a Template panel, specify the required properties.
In the Responsible User section, click Add.
Select the required team member and click Add.
Click Add to add the quality action.
- To add a quality checklist template to the qualification unit, do the following:
In the Overview tab, in the Effectiveness Review Checklist section, click Add Checklist Specification .
In the Add Checklist Specification panel, select the required quality checklist template, and click Add.
Note If no quality checklist templates are available for selection, you must create one in Quality Master Data library.
The quality checklist template is added to the qualification unit.
- To add training content to the qualification unit, do the following:
Click the Contents tab.
In the Attachments section, click Add to .
In the Add panel, click Select File to browse to and select an external file, and click Add.
OR You can also create a Teamcenter file or search for an existing Teamcenter file, and attach it.
To replace the attached training content with an updated version, select it, and choose More Commands
Edit Replace File.
In the Replace panel, click Select File to browse to and select the replacement file, and click Replace.
If the attached training content is no longer relevant, select it, and choose More Commands
Edit Delete.
In the confirmation message, click Delete.
